Ammonites are perhaps the most widely known fossils and because of this prevalence are the most common fossils found for sale. These creatures lived in the seas between 240 - 65 million years ago, when they fell into extinction with the dinosaurs. The name 'ammonite' (usually lower-case) originates from the Greek Ram-horned god Ammon.
Ammonites are considered to hold the earth's positive energy and ancient vibrations. The tightly coiled circular pattern of this magnificent piece brings to mind the horns of a ram while evoking constant movement and circulation of energy. This striking piece exhibits magnificent mineralization within the chambers, each separated by white calcite scepta. The base is made of nickel-plated brass with three delicate gradient glass circles. Ideal as housewarming gift, it is a distinctive piece in any decor.
