Our Charitable Efforts
The charities we support all have a special meaning to Tobias Oliver. We understand how fortunate we are to have the simple things in life; friends, family and love so giving back wherever possible is a foundation we believe is crucial to our ongoing business. Helping bring awareness to these charities is hugely important to their success, and raising the funds needed to help those who need it the most.

ECOLOGI
June 2022 – CURRENT
As part of our drive towards being carbon neutral and supporting our value of sustainability, we have funded the planting of over 19,000 trees and have supported carbon avoidance in projects across Chile, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We do this through our interior design services and retail sales. We plant one tree for every single product purchased, that means for 6 items purchased in 1 bag – we commit to planting 6 new trees. We also do this for all our interior design projects for each line item, meaning beautiful interiors don’t have to cost the Earth. Every stylish choice makes the planet thrive.

DENS Helping Rebuild Lives
We are proud to support DENS through a monthly financial commitment to their all important fundraising! This helps to provide a reliable, steady income for DENS through out the year.
Most recently we have donated at £2500 design scheme for the DENS 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner Auction in February 2024.
We also donated a £1000 design scheme to the winner of a Christmas Charity Event as part of a raffle with Best Results Fitness in 2022.
Most people know DENS as the homeless charity for people in Dacorum. In fact, DENS do so much more than just provide a roof and a bed. DENS aim is to be the first port of call for people in Dacorum who are facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion; to support and empower them to take the next positive step in their lives.
They ensure individuals have access to temporary and short-term accommodation, and individuals and families have access to emergency food and provisions. DENS provide accommodation options to support people to move on and sustain their own tenancy and they provide advice and training; empowering people to develop their skills and build confidence.

The Hospice of St. Francis
The Tobias Oliver Team decided to take part in an incredible experience to raise support for our local hospice, a Sky Dive!
This ambitious adventure was instigated by Project Lead – Nina Gilbert.
Nina wanted to do something to support The Hospice of St Francis to say thank you for the care the Community Team gave to her father, Oliver and for the support that Harrison received from our Children’s Services, in understanding and coping with the loss of his grandfather.
Nina explains how Harrison and his grandfather had become very close and had spent a lot of time together during this period. She remembers going to the Hospice with Harrison and visiting with the staff in their Children’s Pod (informally known as a Chicken Shed).
Nina speaks with warmth about the environment at the Hospice and how much Harrison enjoyed walking around the grounds and looking for the animals in the woodland walk.

Friends of Little Gaddesden School
We donated a £1000 design scheme to a Charity Spring Ball held at Ashridge House. The Auction raised a record-breaking amount for the school’s playground renovation fund.
At Little Gaddesden School, the role of the PTA is wider than in many other schools – it is a registered charity, The Friends of Little Gaddesden School (“the Friends”). Our objectives are not only to raise money for the school, but also to forge links within the local community and organisations. The Friends could not survive without support from parents, carers and the wider community.
The Friends host a variety of social events for parents, families and the wider community each year. These activities help raise valuable funds used to increase opportunities for the children at Little Gaddesden School.

NHS Charities Together
We are pleased to announce that of Monday the 27th of April 2020, we will be donating 5% of our profits from online and showroom sales to NHS Charities Together (NHSCT) in aid of the NHS Charities Together COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.
There are more than 250 official NHS Charities across the UK, helping our hospitals to do more. In recent years, NHS Charities have funded projects pioneering research and medical equipment at our hospitals, helping patients access the best possible care when they need it most.
They also play a key role in mobilising volunteers to support NHS staff, brightening wards and waiting areas, building an important link between our hospitals and our communities. Other NHS Charities support mental, community health and ambulance trusts. These vital funds and services are above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide, touching lives and making a huge difference to millions of people when they are at their most vulnerable.

2.6 Challenge
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events.
The London Marathon alone, which should have taken place on Sunday 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event, which raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019.
The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.
We supported the Terrence Higgins Trust.
Terrence Higgins Trust was one of the first charities to be set up in response to the HIV epidemic and has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV, and improving the nation’s sexual health, ever since. THT offers services to people infected, or affected, by HIV and ill sexual health. We support over 85,000 people through counselling, advocacy, health education, one hour HIV testing and buddying. Over vision is a world where people with HIV live healthy lives free from prejudice and discrimination, and good sexual health is a right and reality for all.

NHS HEROES: COVID-19
On Monday 6th of April, we launched an instagram campaign, our NHS HEROES Competition. The competition was created to help our social media audience show a small gesture of appreciation to their NHS HEROES and nominate a keyworker to win our beautifully curated Care Package. The goal of the competition was to shine a light on all our NHS workers on the front line and our Care Package will hopefully help bring a little bit of comfort and self-care to the Winner.
We received lots of touching nominations through the course of the two week competition with incredible comments on all those who were entered. We announced the Winner Friday the 17th of April and the Care Package sent out to them. Our Winner was Rachel, an ITU Nurse at St. Peter’s hospital – a true Hero!
Thank you to all who nominated. This campaign stemmed our launch to support NHS Charities Together (NHSCT). Donating 5% of all our online and showroom profits to this incredible group of charities.

CHRISTMAS PARTY 2019
On Saturday 7th of December 2019 we hosted a Christmas Party for our local community, clients, customers and suppliers at out showroom in aid of Action for Children.
Action for Children: “We protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support, ensuring their voices are heard, and campaigning to bring lasting improvements to their lives. Last year, we helped more than 387,000 children and families across the UK.”
The party began at 3pm with mince pies, mulled wine and an Illusionist, keeping us all entertained and prepped for our evening event. The party was in full swing by 7pm where we entertained our guests with a special guest singer and painist, enjoying traditional Christmas canapes, Champagne and cocktails with a Christmas twist!

SCREW CANCER 2019
Screw Cancer is a charity set up by the late William Yeoward, who sadly passed away peacefully on Tuesday 18th of June 2018. William Yeoward is a household name when it comes to Interior Design, making his mark in history with his brand and beautiful character.
Diagnosis of cancer can leave you very confused – and more than a little frightened – uncertain of what will happen next. It is not that everyone isn’t tremendously helpful but your thinking is muddled and the ability to process can be hard. Vital information seems to be everywhere but not in one place.
The Screw Cancer App is designed to provide you with a single place on your phone where you can store information specific to you and your cancer treatment.
I first met William when we both particiapted in Interior Designers Pantomime in 2014, this performance sees leading figures from the world of fashion and design come together to raise money for different charities. Now in it’s 6th year, the Interior Designers Pantomime has raised several millions of pounds for various charities.
Last year the Interior Designers Pantomime was dedicated the William’s charity, Screw Cancer. Making this an extra special event – personal to the design community.
