OUR CHARITIES

The charities we support all have a special meaning to our team at Tobias Oliver Interiors. We understand how fortunate we are to have the simple things in life; friends, family and love so giving back wherever possible is a foundation we believe is crucial to our ongoing business. Helping bring awareness to these charities is hugely important to their success, and raising the funds needed to help those who need it the most.

NHS CHARITIES TOGETHER

April 2020 - Ongoing

We are pleased to announce that of Monday the 27th of April 2020, we will be donating 5% of our profits from online and showroom sales to NHS Charities Together (NHSCT) in aid of the NHS Charities Together COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.

There are more than 250 official NHS Charities across the UK, helping our hospitals do more. In recent years NHS Charities have funded projects pioneering research and medical equipment at our hospitals, helping patients access the best possible care when they need it most. They also play a key role in mobilising volunteers to support NHS staff, brightening wards and waiting areas, building an important link between our hospitals and our communities. Other NHS Charities support mental, community health and ambulance trusts. These vital funds and services are above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide, touching lives and making a huge difference to millions of people when they are at their most vulnerable. However not many people know about these charities.

The 2.6 Challenge in support of the Terrence Higgins Trust

Sunday 26th of April

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events.

The London Marathon alone, which should have taken place on Sunday 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event, which raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019.

The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

We supported the Terrence Higgins Trust...

Terrence Higgins Trust was one of the first charities to be set up in response to the HIV epidemic and has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV, and improving the nation's sexual health, ever since. THT offers services to people infected, or affected, by HIV and ill sexual health. We support over 85,000 people through counselling, advocacy, health education, one hour HIV testing and buddying. Over vision is a world where people with HIV live healthy lives free from prejudice and discrimination, and good sexual health is a right and reality for all.

Toby completed his challenge and raised £485 on behalf of Tobias Oliver Interiors :-). Well done to everyone who took part!

NHS HEROES:  COVID-19

Monday 6th of April 2020

On Monday 6th of April, we launched an instagram campaign, our NHS HEROES Competition. The competition was created to help our social media audience show a small gesture of appreciation to their NHS HEROES and nominate a keyworker to win our beautifully curated Care Package. The goal of the competition was to shine a light on all our NHS workers on the front line and our Care Package will hopefully help bring a little bit of comfort and self-care to the Winner.

We received lots of touching nominations through the course of the two week competition with incredible comments on all those who were entered. We announced the Winner Friday the 17th of April and the Care Package sent out to them. Our Winner was Rachel, an ITU Nurse at St. Peter's hospital - a true Hero!

Thank you to all who nominated. This campaign stemmed our launch to support NHS Charities Together (NHSCT).  Dontating 5% of all our online and showroom profits to this incredible group of charities.

Friday 8th of November 1019

The Hospice of St. Francis is widely known in our community as many of us in Berkhamsted and local areas, know someone who has been supported by this wonderful Charity. It is important to us to support smaller local charaties, as well as nationwide ones, which is why we donated a £1000 design package prize to their Grand Auction.  Our prize raised £650 on the evening making our contribution £1650 towards and incredible amount of £34,335!

The Hopsice of St. Francis: "We can help you if you are managing, or recovering from, serious illness. We help you to live your life well by improving symptoms, working with you to achieve personal goals - helping you to feel safe - and anything from getting back to work, enjoying family time to walking the dogs again.

Our care takes many forms and our professional team plus dedicated, trained volunteers care for people with a wide range of illnesses including cancer, motor neurone disease, dementia, heart disease, lung disease and neurological illness.

West Herts Future Hospital - Fundraiser

Wednesday 13th of November 2019

This fundrasing event was held at our neighbouring restaurant, The Gatsby. The event was created to continue raising funds for the plans for the new hospital to be completed.  The hospital would be a state of the art 21st Century Hospital located in West Herts.

Of course, as we adapt the ever changing COVID-19 landscape, we understand how crucial our NHS Hospitals are, especially in our local area.

Tobias Oliver Interiors donated over £1100 to the fundraiser - we wish the team backing the plans for our future hospital the best of luck in making this vision a reality.

Screw Cancer - The App

Thursday 7th of November 2019

Screw Cancer is a charity set up by the late William Yeoward, who sadly passed away peacefully on Tuesday 18th of June 2018. William Yeoward is a household name when it comes to Interior Design, making his mark in history with his brand and beautiful character.

Diagnosis of cancer can leave you very confused - and more than a little frightened - uncertain of what will happen next.  It is not that everyone isn't tremendously helpful but your thinking is muddled and the ability to process can  be hard.  Vital information seems to be everywhere but not in one place.

The Screw Cancer App is designed to provide you with a single place on your phone where you can store information specific to you and your cancer treatment.

I first met William when we both particiapted in Interior Designers Pantomime in 2014, this performance sees leading figures from the world of fashion and design come together to raise money for different charities.  Now in it's 6th year, the Interior Designers Pantomime has raised several millions of pounds for various charities.

Last year the Interior Designers Pantomime was dedicated the William's charity, Screw Cancer.  Making this an extra special event - personal to the design community.

Tobias Oliver Interiors attended the Gala Dinner, after watching "Jack and the Blingstalk" on the 7th of November 2019 and contributed over £4500 towards the joint efforts of the design community raising a staggering amount for Screw Cancer.  See the video clip below - it's an incredible watch!

Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)

Sunday 8th of September 2019

Preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families.

Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in 1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD. CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research. CRY publishes and distributes medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public. CRY funds specialist referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.

We supported CRY with the donation of over £1700 for the local fundraiser, a 7-aside football tournament in our town of Berkhamsted.  The tournament took place on Sunday 8th of September 2019 and raised a fantastic £12,855 for this important charity.
