However, each room needed to flow seamlessly through to the next. This meant clever consideration on colour theory. For example, when selecting the NCS colour for the vibrant pink sideboard, we wanted to find a playful patterned fabric for the ottoman which would perfectly balance the interior design in this room at the country house.
Creating a comfortable living space for a modern family
We re-designed the main kitchen and dining area by turning two small rooms into one large multi-functional space, which now serves as the heart of the home in this country house interior design.
Faced with the constraints of room size and layout, we honed our design expertise to craft an illusion of expansiveness. By seamlessly integrating the kitchen into the walls and employing organic, curved marble forms on the island, we transformed the space into a fluid, inviting environment. A meticulously curated design scheme was also tailored to complement the client’s existing artwork collection, resulting in a harmonious blend of function and artistry.
Pushing Creative Boundaries

In the main lounge, Tobias Oliver introduced a flexible layout with three distinct seating zones tailored for different moods and gatherings. These include an L-shaped sofa for music and television, a tête-à-tête piece by the fireplace for intimate conversation, and a bold bar area for socialising. The conservatory was also transformed, with dramatic window treatments and concealed curved banquettes lending a theatrical, immersive quality to the space. This country house interior design exudes sophistication.
Sustainability and connection to the community were also key to the design. The property now benefits from energy-efficient solutions and maximised natural light, reducing both visual and environmental impact. Tobias Oliver enhanced curb appeal and neighbourhood engagement by adding two welcoming porches, repositioning pedestrian gates, and carefully designing the landscaping. This thoughtful transformation has not only redefined the interior of Wyndcliffe but has also reconnected it to its surroundings, making it a cherished home with enduring character and charm.
