Luca Carlevarijs engraved Venice in the early eighteenth century, and his vedute are the source here, the same ones behind the Toile de Venise jacquard. Printing them onto a sheer alters their character entirely. The line work hangs in the light with the window visible through it, so the city appears and dissolves depending on where you stand.
The repeat is very large, 125.5 cm vertically by 150 cm across, which is half the width of the cloth, so plan the drop around it. 300 cm wide in Trevira CS at 120 g, inherently flame retardant and certified for contract curtains in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. Two colourways, made in Italy.
